ABOUT
Caitlin is a New England based lighting designer with experience in theater, musical theater, opera, dance, live events, installation and architectural projects. She is currently an Assistant Teaching Professor at Northeastern Univeristy in the Theatre Department where she teaches a veriety of courses including lighting design, scenic design, and design for immersive performance.
New York credits include The Daryl Roth, Theater Row, Soho Rep, Ars Nova, The New Ohio, and Wild Project among others. Regional credits include REDCAT, Yale Repertory Theatre, Two River Theater, Milwaukee Rep, Theater Squared, Cape Fear Regional Theatre, and many others across the United States, and on tour in the US and Scandinavia with Oslo based companies Wakka Wakka Productions, and Cirkus Xanti. Recent favorites include designing the scenery and lighting for María Irene Fornéz’s immersive play Fefu and Her Friends at Northeastern University, and the evening length Anthology for Nashville Ballet.
Caitlin has worked as an assistant and associate designer to Jennifer Tipton, Christopher Akerlind, and Yi Zhao among other notable designers at institutions including The Public, The Signature Theatre, The Vineyard Theatre, and Williamstown Theatre Festival. Caitlin Also had the pleasure of serving as Associate Lighting Designer to Jennifer Tipton for To Kill A Mockingbird on Broadway (Tony Nominated).
She is the recipient of the 2016 Hemsley Mentorship Grant- allowing her to work under Traci Klainer of LUCE Lighting Design, where she worked on architectural lighting projects ranging from themed entertainment to The National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, DC.
Caitlin holds an MFA in Design from the Yale School of Drama, and a BA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She is a proud member of United Scenic Artists, local 829.
